Assystem Energy & Infrastructure are currently recruiting for a Project Engineer who has a background in supporting projects or work packages in an engineering environment and ideally used Primavera P6 and SAP. You will work both internally within the business and also externally to achieve agreed objectives and deliver contractual agreements. You will understand customer requirements and business opportunities and will maintain effective customer interfaces. Role details: Job title: Project Engineer Location: Derby Industry: Defence Contract: 6 - 12 month contract  Hours: 37 hours + per week (flexible start and finish times) Key Responsibilities Support Project Manager/Work Package Owner in delivering agreed scope Work with the Planner to produce and maintain SAP networks Follow the commit / accept process through to conclusion to secure resources Adhere to the project review cycle, produce project reports including variance analysis and commentary Act as focal point for project management and provide stakeholder management with information necessary to control and manage the project Collate estimates and plans from sub-contractors to assist PM/WPO in project delivery Assist with the project status review process for P6 maintenance by the planning team Collate information for EVM report production Support project risk reviews and ensure mitigation funding is secured Maintenance of forecast costs and EAC/FCAC Manage the work package risk register Prepare, submit and present change request where required such as for risk drawdown Qualifications and experience required to apply for the role: Degree in a relevant engineering or business discipline or equivalent level of continuous professional development and experience (ideally in the defence engineering environment). Project Management experience, showing an understanding of the project lifecycle, risk management, cost management, planning and programming. Good understanding of engineering and/or operations activities. A working knowledge of SAP and/or scheduling tools in relation to project activities is desirable. APMP or PRINCE 2 qualifications would be desirable. Ability to work with minimum supervision in order to deliver results and to work in ambiguous situations, whilst working to tight timescales and achieving quality outputs on time.
