Description

The role: Assystem Energy & Infrastructure Ltd (AEIL) are looking to recruit an Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer to support the significant growth in its EC&I capability. As a Junior EC&I Engineer, you will often fit within a wider engineering process which may involve the capture of requirements, production of specifications, and design of components, assemblies or systems, in a collaborative environment. The output can be varied but will include structured requirements capture, addressing risks, production of specifications, providing input to design engineers, and the production of documents to support the design or safety case. As the Junior EC&I Engineer progresses through the grades, it is expected that they will develop a broader engineering knowledge, applying this to ensure requirements are met, the output is safe, and no over-engineering occurs. Responsibilities: The Junior EC&I Engineer will, in many cases, play a central role within a project and therefore will need to have good communication skills to interface effectively with other disciplines e.g. Stress, Mechanical, Safety, and Technical Governance. Shall demonstrate knowledge of EC&I Engineering fundamentals and apply those fundamentals with guidance from senior colleagues. In the potential Design aspect of the role, you will require an awareness of the appropriate codes, standards, legal and regulatory requirements, which are relevant to their work. Junior EC& I Designers will be able to translate the design concepts into scheme drawings, to develop into general arrangements, architecture drawings, line drawings, loops, schematic and other detailed manufacturing drawings, in accordance with the relevant standard. Essential experience: Completion of relevant and recognised Apprenticeship OR Graduate Scheme OR Industrial experience. They shall be able to demonstrate knowledge of EC&I Engineering fundamentals. Sound knowledge of AutoCAD 2D, including a qualification/training course in CAD software. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrate awareness of the implications of Engineering Design Risks to installation and commissioning. Be aware of the environmental impact of an engineering design/installation. Sound knowledge in a wide range of computer packages to include Microsoft Word, Excel, Database, Outlook, and Project. Desirable experience: Should have basic experience and understanding of delegation, motivation, effective communication at all levels, objective setting, dealing with other people, and teamwork. Experience with electrical design tools, such as AutoCAD Electrical, SEE Electrical, or SolidWorks Electrical. Ability to work within virtual teams. Required qualifications: A relevant and recognised Engineering Degree (generally in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Control) or an HNC/HND with relevant professional experience. How to apply: For more information and a further discussion through the job description, please contact adunphy@assystem.com  Due to the nature of work to be undertaken applicants will be required to meet certain residency criteria in order to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance if not already security cleared to a minimum SC level.
