As a fully owned subsidiary of Safran Electronics & Defense, Safran Electronics & Defense Australasia Pty Ltd (SEDA) delivers and supports various products including high performance optronics and inertial navigation equipment. Headquartered in Sydney, SEDA brings local expertise in the integration of optronics and navigation systems for the air, land and naval platforms of the Australian and New Zealand Defence Forces. Reporting to the Lead Systems Engineer you will be responsible for a broad understanding of all system-engineering disciplines in developing and delivering engineering documentation to support deliveries in the frame of the Future Submarine Program. Systems engineering tasks: Clarify and Validate customer technical requirements. Requirement elicitation, analysis and development for new proposals and resulting from change requests. Management of Engineering Change Proposals Respond to technical questions (with the support of design authority) and provide clarifications / justifications. Flow-down system requirements to subsystem using functional and non-functional analysis. Conducting trade-off studies and perform impact analysis of system evolution. Development of test and simulation equipment: Follow up local subcontractor activities and provide engineering guidance and support during simulator development phase. Conduct integration and verification phase. Write Acceptance Tests Procedures and Acceptance Test Reports. Manage product configuration (Documents and Bill of Material) Apply Safran process Apply SAFRAN's development framework and implement systems engineering tools. Participate in the systems engineering and concept development processes in accordance with the SAFRAN Group framework.

Profil

To be successful in this role you must have : Tertiary engineering qualification Knowledge of systems engineering (requirement management, validation and verification) is mandatory Proficiency in navigation technology is desirable Prior experience in the Defense, Aerospace or Rail Industry will be highly regarded Practical experience in Electronic Engineering, Systems Engineering, Signal Processing Engineering or related discipline. Demonstrated knowledge of system engineering tasks (specification, integration, verification). Demonstrated background in architecture and system design. Demonstrated experience in integration and verification of complex systems. Demonstrated ability to manage customer expectations in a complex delivery organization. Demonstrated ability to deal with complex programs where trade-off between Performance, Cost and Schedule are required Knowledge of system safety and information security on system requirements and design (desirable). Knowledge of Optronic sight systems and / or Radar systems and/or Navigation systems (desirable). Knowledge of requirement management and traceability tools – DOORS – REQTIFY (desirable).
