Position Mechanical Supervisor Department Production Location Namibia Reporting to Workshop Manager Job Description No.   Job Purpose:  To Strip, Fit, assemble, fabricate, test, maintain, and repair low and high pressure piping by using mechanical or other metal parts, according to Company, Client and Quality specifications. Responsibilities / Duties / Job Skills: ·         Fabrication, Pipe Fitting, Installing of all types of Mechanical or other Metal Material, including high pressure Piping, Valves, Couplings, Fittings and other similar tubular products. ·         Securing components together by using agreed and accepted Mechanical Fitting techniques and practices in workshop. ·         Selection of appropriate equipment and plan the layout and assembly of the Mechanical, Welding & pipe fitting process. ·         Testing of material, Mechanical Fittings by using agreed measurements (Pre and Post Welding and Pipe Fitting) ·         Set up Equipment and Mechanical Fitting Parts using appropriate mechanical Fitting Equipment. ·         Follow the Work Procedure Specification, sequence and parameters thoroughly, as per applicable project/Works Number, and request for authorization, for any deviation from it. ·         Ensure Mechanical Fitting completed tasks are in line with the daily acceptable targets. ·         Continuous minimizing of Mechanical Fitting defects. ·         Identify problems (fault finding) and advise on possible appropriate actions to reduce Mechanical Fitting defects, and job inaccuracies. ·         Provide Mechanical Fitting Training to Train Junior Mechanical Fitters and other employees. ·         Report cost saving measures to management. ·         Follow oral and written direction as required by management, and perform all other related tasks as assigned from time to time. ·         Observe the functioning of Mechanical Fitting, to determine safety hazards and need for adjustments, refitting or replacement. ·         Ensure work areas are at all times neat and tidy. ·         Ensure all equipment and consumables are accounted for and stored and maintained in the proper manner. ·         Observe and follow all safety regulations and report all accidents and near misses to management. ·         Complies with all relevant health, safety, environmental, quality, legal and regulatory requirements as stipulated by company requirements.

Knowledge / Qualifications / Experience: ·         4 – 5 years’ experience as a Mechanical Fitter in a Mechanical Fitting environment, qualified in the different Mechanical fitting techniques/procedures being practiced at the company. ·         Good Mechanical aptitude ·         Keen interest in the Mechanical Fitting/Welding and Pipe Fitting Environment. ·         Ability to work with others to achieve job goals ·         Be able to communicate, read and write effectively in the English language.   To acquire within the company : ·         Knowledge of 3C Metal Mechanical Fitting Procedures and Policies.   Functional and Behavioral Competencies: ·         Mechanical  Fitter or related  Qualification (Red Seal advantageous) ·         Pay attention to detail. ·         Be a self-starter. ·         Must have good supervision skills.
