Numerical & Room Acoustics Simulation (internship)

Description

Internship Details:

  • Location: Champs-Sur-Marne (Hybrid / On-site)
  • Duration: 6 months (flexible start date)
  • Compensation: Paid internship

About Echo Silence:

Echo Silence is a Paris-based DeepTech startup developing acoustic metamaterial solutions for advanced industrial noise control. Our technologies target acoustics noise from fans, ducts, HVAC systems, and industrial equipment, combining numerical modeling, experimental validation, and scalable design. The company is supported by leading European innovation programs and works closely with industrial partners in energy, mobility, and infrastructure.

Internship Overview:

We are seeking a motivated intern to contribute to our numerical and experimental acoustics activities, with a focus on room acoustics modeling, simulation, and optimization. The intern will play an active role in developing simulation models that support the design and validation of our next-generation acoustic solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct numerical simulations using COMSOL Multiphysics to optimize material geometry and acoustic performance.
  • Model and analyze room acoustics to enhance noise reduction and insertion loss.
  • Participate in experimental validation of numerical results using laboratory setups.
  • Support proof-of-concept (PoC) studies and product development initiatives.
  • Document findings and present results to the R&D and product teams.

Candidate Profile:

  • Education: Master 1 or Master 2 in Acoustics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
  • Technical Skills:

o Proficiency in COMSOL Multiphysics (mandatory).

o Understanding of numerical and experimental acoustics.

o Familiarity with signal processing or material characterization is a plus.

  • Soft Skills: Analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of independent problem-solving.
  • Languages: Fluent in English (French is a plus).

What We Offer:

  • A dynamic environment at the intersection of deep technology and industrial innovation.
  • Hands-on experience in simulation, testing, and applied research.
  • Mentorship from experienced engineers and researchers in acoustics and materials science.
  • Opportunity to contribute to real-world industrial projects with global impact.
