The construction of the first UK European Pressurised Reactor at Hinkley point C is one of the largest nuclear power generation projects in the world. Within the HPC project organisation, the Pressure Compliance team is responsible for delivering compliance of plant pressure systems to structural integrity requirements and regulatory expectations Further to a company re-organisation in 2019 that led to the assignment of additional responsibilities, the Pressure Compliance team is required to deploy a number of operational resources in various of its main contractors’ locations. The mechanical engineer must support project managers through providing coordination and decision making services on mechanical engineering pressure compliance topics. This will be achieved through: Monitor and ensure the coherence and continuity of requirements across various contracts appointed to them. Engage with stakeholders (Designer Edvance, Contractors and HPC) to coordinate and support the conformity assessment process. Monitor progress on the technical documentation approval status, anticipate and prioritise based on scheduled activities and milestones. Engage with the design and fabrication contractors to support the delivery of their activities Actively support the resolution of Non-conformances and open points. Produce periodic reports for assigned area of responsibility It is expected that HPC will provide the deployed personnel with IT equipment and access to the relevant HPC business systems for the duration of the task. Within Delegation of Authority, ensure pragmatic project decisions are taken within an effective time, utilising SQEP support. Act as escalation point for open points which require project sign on. The team will be embedded within HPC project offices in Bristol, Paris (Malakoff area), HPC site (near Bristol, UK) and other locations potentially in Portugal or Germany.
